OUTDOOR IMAGES
I have been taking pictures now for almost 50 years.
But I’d be lying if I tried to suggest that the first 30 or so years resulted in work that I was proud of. A lot of that time was spent practicing loading and unloading film from the camera.
Despite that very slow beginning, my goal has always remained fairly constant – to create an image that gives the viewer a sense of the awe and inspiration the natural world can bestow!
A few months after I got my first SLR camera, I travelled from my lifetime home in the mid-west to spend a summer in the mountains of Montana! I had never been to the Rockies until then and it truly was ‘awe at first sight!’ Every time I walked out the door that summer the sights that would greet me would take my breadth away!
Shortly after 9/11 I had my own small realization and decided to ‘get serious’ about my photography! Took classes, got training, and basically tried to learn the craft I’d neglected so long.
So, as you look through these images my hope is simple:
maybe, just maybe, one or more of these images makes you pause, catch your breath, or just smile in appreciation.
Enjoy!
Getting to know the photographer.
Yes, that’s me! Like many photographers I know, I also prefer being behind the camera instead of in front of it!
